Federal Payments announces POS service for county tax offices...
Federal Payments, a service of ACH Direct, Inc., announced today the availability of their zero-cost POS counter-top payment solution for County Tax collection offices.
Until recently, merchant acquiring regulations have prohibited the addition of a credit card convenience fee for government offices at the point-of-sale. The Federal Payments solution is the first large scale provider having developed the point-of-sale solution that offers the convenience fee addition. More than 500 terminals have been deployed to government locations in the past two months.
County tax collectors can now offer a face to face credit card solution, without having to absorb merchant account processing fees. Additionally, most offices are likely to qualify for high-speed, IP based terminals at no cost to the county.
